Come join us for the First Annual Fashion-Taos Style to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Taos and Colfax Counties! We are honored to have Patricia Michaels as our guest designer. For over 20 years, Patricia Michaels, has been producing one-of-a-kind couture that defies fashion trends. Patricia draws inspiration from nature and her Native roots. She named her company, PM Waterlily, after her Native name, vowing to keep her traditions alive through the interconnectedness of her fashions. In this respect, Patricia has become a forerunner in the fashion industry for practicing cultural sustainability. Patricia has gained national recognition for Peabody Essex Museum show, "Native Fashion Now" 2015 and international attention after receiving the highly prestigious Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, Arts and Design Award from the museum board of directors in New York City in November 2014. She is the very first recipient of this award, an historic achievement.
Patricia will be providing a retrospect of her journey as a designer by re-creating seven of her past designs to show the influences of those that inspired and mentored her along the way. This very inspiring night will also showcase other Taos fashion entrepreneurs. After the show enjoy a plated dinner created by the Taos Country Club and bid on your favorite item in the silent auction.
